Alison Doody

Alison Doody (born 11 November 1966) is an Irish model and actress. Following her feature film debut with a tiny part in Bond film A View to a Kill (1985) she was later cast to play Nazi-sympathising archaeologist Elsa Schneider, in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989). There were also roles for Siobhan Dovan in A Prayer for the Dying (1987) Charlotte in Taffin (1988) and Rebecca Flannery in Major League II (1994). Doody was asked by a photographer to model and began to model. She then developed an industry-wide career in commercial modeling. Doody was determined to steer clear of glamour and nude roles, this was the principle she applied in her acting. When she was dragged into the sights of the director who cast the upcoming James Bond film she accepted the role of Jenny Flex in 1985's A View to a Kill. Doody was named one of the top twelve promising young actors in 1986 by John Willis Screen World. 38. Doody had just turned age 18 at the time she was cast in the role of Bond girl. She remains the youngest Bond girl to date. A Prayer for the Dying which starred Mickey Rourke in 1987, was a film from the beginning where Doody played IRA Siobhan. Doody was a silent actor in the 1987 version from The Secret Garden, playing Archibald Craven's dream bride Lilias. In the Jim Henson fantasy episode The Storyteller in 1988, Doody played Sapsorrow along with John Hurt Dawn French Jennifer Saunders. She also played alongside Pierce Brosnan on the movie Taffin. Her most recognizable part to date was that of Austrian Nazi sympathizer as well as archaeologist Dr. Elsa Schneider opposite Harrison Ford in the 1989 film Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. Doody played alongside Sean Connery in the film, as Indy's dad. Doody was a part of Jonathan Pryce as Hitler Diaries which was a British mini-series that was inspired by Hitler Diaries. The actress later relocated to Hollywood. The choice was made to replace Cybill Shepherd as spokeswoman for L'Oreal She went on to appear alongside Charlie Sheen in 1994's Major League II as Flannery his agent and girlfriend. Doody was a part of the 2004 British comedy The Actors. Michael Caine was her character in a celebration in recognition of an award. She starred along alongside Patrick Swayze, in the 2004 TV film adaptation of King Solomon's Mines. Doody appeared as a character in Danny Dyer 2010's The Rapture. The following year, she had been scheduled scheduled to be the main character in The Asphyx remake, but this project did not go ahead. The actress began her two seasons on The E4 comedy Beaver Falls in 2011 as Pam Jefferson. The following year, she was on the show as Pam Jefferson on We Still Kill the Old Way.
